The “VistArganil walking” hiking program is preparing for another journey along the most beautiful hiking trails in the municipality. On May 26th, get ready to admire the lush native vegetation, the unique heritage, the architectural details and the centuries-old streets of PR4 AGN – Caminho do Xisto de Vila Cova de Alva.
The meeting point is scheduled for Praça Dr. Luis Costa Faria, next to Pelourinho de Vila Cova de Alva, at 8:30 am and starts from there, heading towards the center of the village. Then, follow a circular route of around 9km, towards the Romanesque bridge over the river Alva, following the cliff and bank until the flatter agricultural area. After paths of pine forest and Mediterranean scrub, you then climb to the upper part of the parish, first along agricultural paths and then along a hillside trail and pass, before returning to the starting point, in the area of the springs, to enjoy the panoramic view over the village and over the Alva valley.
