The Local Health Unit (ULS) of Braga carried out, this Wednesday afternoon, a simulation exercise to test the efficiency and response time of emergency processes, in the event of a fire.

The exercise, which lasted one hour, took place in the Largo Paulo Orósio building, although the fire scenario took place at USF Rocha Peixoto, the simulation also affected USF Maxi Saúde, USF São Geraldo, UCC Colina, the Public Health Laboratory and support areas of the building, with around 70 professionals and 12 users removed.

The drill included the participation of the Municipal Civil Protection Services, the Braga Volunteer Firefighters and the Public Security Police. The simulated scenario involved a fire with its epicenter in an electrical panel at the USF, requiring the evacuation of users and professionals to a safe location.

“This drill aimed to test our emergency procedures in the event of fire and explosion, as well as evaluate the response capacity of our professionals and the external services with whom we collaborate”, explains Sílvia Oliveira, Coordinator of the Risk Management Office at ULS of Braga.
