Damsel, the “feminist fairy tale” starring Millie Bobby Brown, arrived in the Netflix catalog just under a week ago. However, is it possible to question – or hope – for a sequel? It’s the director himself, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo , who tries to answer this question.

In an interview with GamesRadar+, the filmmaker did not hide his expectations for Damsel to get a sequel. Although the ending doesn’t exactly leave a cliffhanger, the director firmly believes that there are more stories to be told: “I mean, I’d be very happy to make a sequel to Damsel […] But, obviously, we have to wait and see what the public thinks and how they react to the film”, he highlights.

Just as we had Enola Holmes 2, can we now count on a second installment of Damsel? Well, you’ll have to wait. Until this article was written, Netflix had not confirmed its intention to make Maiden 2.

What is the story of Maiden?

The film Maiden follows the character Elodie (Bobby Brown), a princess who agrees to marry a handsome prince from another kingdom. But what she doesn’t know is that this fairy tale is actually a big mistake. The royals intend to sacrifice her.

Deceived by the king, the princess becomes the sacrifice of an old debt. Now, trapped in a dragon’s cave and knowing that no one is coming to rescue her, she will need to use her cunning, intelligence and perseverance to escape with her life – all without the help of any prince charming.
