In the list of Casa das Ideias’ most intelligent characters, most have already been in films or series.

Marvel has a wide range of characters, from the most powerful to the most bizarre. Among heroes and villains, many of them stand out for their intelligence, strategic skills and unique way of thinking.

As the House of Ideas enters a new phase on the big and small screen, driven by X-Men ’97 and, soon, by Deadpool & Wolverine, it seems like a good time to understand which of these individuals surpass themselves when it comes to the power of mind – without taking into account the telekinetic powers of Jean Gray and Professor X at first.

X-Men ’97 is a return to the glory days of Marvel’s mutants on screen: Nostalgia is just the engine for a relevant and promising adventure (First impressions)

Based on a list created by Collider, a North American outlet that also covers pop culture, and in consensus with other media specializing in the subject, check out some of the smartest heroes from the publisher responsible for introducing The Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men into the popular imagination.

Who is the smartest Marvel character?

The list is made up of 16 characters, of which the last places go to Shuri, Charles Xavier, Riri Williams, Doctor Strange, Steve Rogers and The High Evolutionary. They have all appeared in films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, Coração de Ferro should get a solo series soon.

The Top 10 already has Peter Parker in tenth place. Even before gaining his powers from a radioactive spider, the boy always had one of the most brilliant minds at the publisher.

Fera, an expert in biochemistry, genetics and electronics, and Amadeus Cho, simply the winner of “Brain Soap” in which he was elected as the seventh smartest person in the world, are in 9th and 8th place, respectively. After them, Hank Pym, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark and Doctor Doom approach the podium.

Valéria Richards, daughter of Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman, comes in third place. With an intellect that rivals her father and godfather Victor Von Doom, she is described as a young prodigy.

Lunella Lafayette takes second place. Better known as the Girl in the Moon, the young woman has Inhuman DNA that remained latent for many years until she met her partner, the Demon Dinosaur. She is portrayed as a super genius girl and, for those who don’t know, you can embark on her adventures in her Disney+ animated series.

“They will always be an allegory about prejudices”: More than 30 years after the original series, director of X-Men ’97 explains the relevance of Marvel’s mutants today (Interview)

First place is none other than Reed Richards, one of Marvel’s greatest heroes/villains, the physicist holds one of the most powerful – and dangerous – minds in the Marvel universe. In addition to his work as a scientist constantly impacting the publisher’s other heroes, he plays an important role in the main sagas of Casa das Ideias.

Obviously, there are discussions about Marvel’s smartest being. But it is indisputable that Reed Richards is probably one of the people who best fits this position. Now we have to see if Pedro Pascal’s Mr. Fantastic, in Fantastic Four, will live up to the character’s intelligence in the comics.
