TV will have special programming on the 30th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s death

30 years without Senna: this week, three decades after the accident on May 1, 1994, in Ímola (Italy), TV Globo is preparing a series of reports and specials that will be shown in the coming days about the death of the Brazilian idol .

The tributes begin this Sunday (28) in the morning, with a special report from ‘Esporte Espetacular’. Reporter Marcelo Courrege meets students from a school in São Paulo, named after the pilot, to introduce the children to who the idol was.

At night, on ‘Fantástico’, reporter Renato Peters visits the Tatuí farm, in the interior of São Paulo, which belongs to the Senna family, one of the three-time champion’s favorite refuges.

On GloboNews, the ‘Sunday Special’ shows, from 8:30 pm onwards, material with important moments in the pilot’s life and career.

‘Bom Dia SP’ airs, starting this Monday (29), a series of three episodes with stories and memories of the pilot in his hometown.

On Wednesday – the day that completes 30 years since the pilot’s death – ‘Globo Esporte’ presents the details of an immersive and interactive exhibition about the three-time world champion that premieres in Rio de Janeiro and shows the pilot’s legacy while the São Paulo edition of The program recalls the first game of Corinthians – Senna’s favorite club – at Pacaembu after the idol’s death and the tributes.

Afterwards, ‘Jornal Hoje’ talks to a cousin of the three-time champion, the person responsible for giving him the Brazilian flag after his victory at Interlagos, in 1993. At the beginning of the evening, ‘SP2’ interviews a collector who became known for make life-size replicas of Formula 1. The ‘Jornal Nacional’ shows the tribute planned for the Brazilian in Ímola.

On the same day, the three episodes of Globoplay’s new documentary series, ‘Senna by Ayrton’, produced by Globo’s Núcleo de Documentários do Esporte da Globo, will be available to subscribers telling the pilot’s trajectory through the protagonist’s eyes.

GloboNews and Sportv also prepare special reports in honor of Senna. On the 1st, from 10 am, ‘Redação sportv’ takes a look back at the pilot’s successful career based on emblematic covers of newspapers and magazines of the time.

On GloboNews, ‘Jornal das Dez’ tells the idol’s trajectory from Brazil at the time, in a period of democratic transition and economic crisis.

GNT shows the documentary ‘Senna: 30 Years’ on May 1st, at 10:30 pm, which can also be seen on Globoplay, from the 15th. On Canal Brasil, the documentary series ‘Ayrton: Retratos e Memórias’ rescues, in 10 episodes, Senna’s professional and personal trajectory based on archive images and testimonies from friends, admirers and track companions. It will also air on the 1st, starting at 4pm, in a marathon format.
