Over a long weekend, there is a new film starring Godzilla that has just arrived in Portuguese cinemas.

As usual, the big cinema premieres in Portugal arrived this Thursday, March 28th, on a weekend that has a bit of a difference, as on the occasion of Easter there is a holiday on Friday to take advantage of.

A good option is to gather family and/or friends for a trip to the cinema, as there are titles for all audiences. For the youngest, “Os Gigantes De La Mancha“, by Gonzalo Gutierrez ‘GG’, comes to us. For those looking for a more classic drama, Anthony Hopkins promises to thrill in “A Singular Life”. Those who consider themselves more adventurous have “Immaculada” with Sydney Sweeney, a highly praised horror, a good option.

However, there is an alternative that could garner maximum consensus and great enthusiasm among kids and adults alike, the new Monsterverse film from Legendary. Directed again by Adam Wingard, the film that once again pits two of the greatest monsters in the history of cinema, Godzilla and King Kong, has just arrived in Portuguese cinemas.

The cast of this new chapter includes Rebecca Hall, Kaylee Hottle, Dan Stevens, Alex Ferns, Fala Chen, Rachel House, Ron Smyck, Chantelle Jamieson, Greg Hatton and Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry

After “Kong: Skull Island” (2017) and “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021), comes “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” in which the powerful Kong and the fearsome Godzilla are placed before a colossal threat. Something hidden in our world that threatens the existence of all species, as well as delving deep into the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond. Going into the heart of the origins of the Hollow Earth, the film also addresses the battle of the Titans that united humanity and monsters forever.

O The Seattle Times highlights that “The manufactured chaos is relentless”, highlighting the “incredible deconstruction” present in the feature film. O The Film Verdict points out that we are facing “a film where giant beasts attack each other with exciting efficiency”. For the Slashfilm, “Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire” is “infectiously fun, raucous and, in an 8-year-old sense, amazing.” A IGN further highlights that this new film “offers a frenetic dreamscape with plenty of rewards to please the MonsterVerse faithful.”
