Marvel has finally confirmed the connection between the hero Shang-Chi and Kang, the villain of the next Avengers film.

Marvel Studios continues to move forward with the production of Avengers: Kang Dynasty, the next film by the most famous team of heroes in cinema, which is currently scheduled to premiere in May 2026.
Avengers 5 fired screenwriter Jeff Loveness (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), later choosing Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) as his replacement in the script.
In any case, before being fired, Jeff Lovenesse spoke a lot about the next Avengers film, as the portals that interviewed him always took the opportunity to try to get some information about the next film.
And for Backstory Magazine, the screenwriter ended up confirming a big fan theory, which linked the rings seen in Shang-Chi and the bracelets seen in Ms. Marvel to the villain Kang and his technology for traveling through the multiverse, all due to similar visual features. Yeah, and I think this gets into spoiler territory, but I’m sure people have already picked up on the fact that, ‘Oh, he has technology in the ring. This is interesting’. Or ‘Oh, these griffins are similar to the others’. So I guess we’ll find out that Kang has been putting his fingerprints on the MCU for a long time now.

After marking cinema history with Avengers: Endgame, the next Earth’s Mightiest Heroes film will be Avengers: Kang Dynasty!
The film was announced at San Diego Comic Con 2022 as one of the highlights of PHASE 6 of the MCU, alongside Avengers: Secret Wars! The film has a confirmed release date in Brazilian cinemas for April 30, 2026.
Jonathan Majors, obviously, was confirmed in the film as the villain Kang the Conqueror! But after he was found guilty in a trial for harassment and assault, Marvel Studios dropped him from the role. As a result, it is uncertain whether we will have the villain’s presence in the film.
