While he doesn’t officially mark his return to the Ultimate Octagon, Conor McGregor continues to shine outside the cage. Newly released, the film ‘Road House’ – which features the UFC star as one of the protagonists – became the audience record holder for premieres in the history of the streaming platform ‘Amazon Prime Video’.

In less than two weeks since its release on March 21, ‘Road House’ has reached 50 million views worldwide. The feature film is a ‘remake’ of the classic 80s film, which had Patrick Swayze as the protagonist and in Brazil was called ‘Matador de Aluguel’. The new version stars Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal and former UFC champion Conor McGregor.

Future in cinema?

Despite supposedly having made some enemies in Hollywood, Conor McGregor’s success in his first big film experience could open even more doors. Furthermore, the financial return also seems to please the UFC star, who claims to have been the highest-paid debut actor in history. It remains to be seen whether the Irishman’s career as a fighter will be put aside in favor of his career on the big screen.
