‘X-Files’ creator is looking forward to the REBOOT produced by ‘Black Panther’ director

-

Last year, the director was revealed Ryan Coogler (‘Black Panther’) will produce a reboot of the classic series’X file‘, which follows agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) during his investigation into paranormal events.

Although little is known about the version of Cooglerthe creator of the original version, Chris Cartertold the Inverse who is looking forward to seeing the new iteration.

“It’s interesting, people ask me, ‘Aren’t you possessive about this?’ And I say, ‘No, I’m excited to see what someone else does.'”

He continued:

“No matter what happens, he has a difficult job. Casting is a difficult job. Assembling and maintaining it is difficult work. All the problems I faced will be his problems from now on.”

Previously, he spoke with the The Wrap and said he already gave his blessing to Coogler.

The filmmaker admitted that, as the Disney owns the franchise rights, Coogler and company didn’t need to seek approval to reimagine the material, but he made a point of showing that he’s in the crowd and will support whatever form the new project takes.

“I shouldn’t be talking about this, according to Disney. But I’ll tell you, yes. I talked to him. Yes, he likes to put together diverse casts and has some good ideas.”

Asked if he will be involved in the project in any way, he confirmed that:

Don’t forget to watch:

“I would not do that. I’m just a cheerleader now. They don’t need my blessing. 20th Century Fox and Disney own the show. They are free to do with it what they believe. I’m honored that they came to me and asked me, not for my permission, but for my blessing. And I gave them my blessing.”

The original series ran between 1993 and 2002, gaining a brief continuation in 2016, which ended up being cancelled.

Previously, Duchovny had commented on the possibility of a reboot without his involvement: I think at this point there might be another iteration of the show without any of us. I am not sure. Or there could be a cartoon. There are many ways to continue what we did. But personally, for me, it would only make sense if there was Mulder and Scully, under Chris’ supervision. I can’t imagine being part of anything other than that.”
