Mayor of Rio do Sul, José Thomé (PSD), banned a cinema show

LGBTQIAP+ at the municipality’s Cultural Foundation, generating great commotion on social media.

According to him, it was not a “matter of prejudice, but of respect for Christian principles, what is written in the Bible, and family principles”. The municipal head was reported to the Public Ministry and will answer for censorship, homotransphobia and violation of the principle of state secularity
