‘Mufasa’, pre-sequel to ‘The Lion King’, gets NEW image; Trailer will be released TOMORROW!

A Walt Disney Studios released an unprecedented image of ‘Mufasa’pre-sequence in live-action in ‘The Lion King’.

The photo highlights a younger version of the titular character. Furthermore, it was revealed that the official trailer for the attraction will be released tomorrow, April 29thduring the program Good Morning America.

The feature film, previously scheduled for the day July 5, 2024will now hit theaters only in December 20, 2024.

During the CinemaCon 2024new scenes from the pre-sequel were released.

In the new material, we are taken to a snowy mountain, where we are shown a pride of lions lying down. The wise Rafiki appears as the story’s narrator and describes the plot as centering on a lion who “will change everyone’s lives.” Several new environments are shown, including the swamps of Africa, more snowy mountains and deep rivers. A young Mufasa appears imposing in the rocky desert, being described by Rafiki himself as a lion born “without any nobility” – and who will embark on a journey that will transform him into the leader as we know him.

The project is directed by acclaimed independent filmmaker Barry JenkinsOscar winner for ‘Moonlight: Under the Moonlight‘.

Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams It is Nicholas Britell will take care of the new songs from the prequel.

Additionally, the project will have NEW songs sung by animated lions that look like real lions.

The script was written by Jeff Nathansonwho was also responsible for the script for the original.

Aaron Pierre (‘Time’) will voice Mufasa. Already Kelvin Harrison Jr.known for ‘Luce‘, will voice the character Taka.

For those who don’t know. Taka is the real name of ScarMufasa’s brother who ultimately betrays and kills him in an attempt to take control of the king of Pride Rock.
