The production of Deadpool & Wolverine and the entire Marvel Studios family received the worst news possible with the death of the designer Ray Chan.
Obviously, Ryan Reynolds took to social media to share a beautiful tribute to Ray. The designer, in case you didn’t know, has worked on many MCU films since Thor 2!
Check out Ryan’s tribute to the artist, who left us last week:
“Words are quite inadequate compared to your loss. There is a reserve of skill, gentle grit and talent that is no longer with us.
As Production Designer, he was an important creative force on Deadpool & Wolverine, as much as the writers, director and stars.
I don’t pretend to know every chapter of Ray’s heart, but I know it’s unusual to find someone with this level of mastery in the art, who has simultaneously navigated the world with so much humanity.
He built entire worlds from scratch and did so in the most collaborative and inclusive ways. Ray was second to none and so amazing to be around.
He will be missed by everyone, but especially by the people in his most important world: his family.
The last time I saw Ray was exactly two weeks ago. One of the last things I told him was that he does magic and there is no one on Earth like him. Generally, he and I said a lot of well-intentioned shit. So…of all the final things you can say to someone you adore, this is a little consolation that I will hold on to forever.”

Deadpool & Wolverine will mark the anti-hero’s big debut in the Marvel Studios universe after Disney’s purchase of Fox, and also the first R-rated film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
In addition to Ryan Reynolds and much of the cast from the previous two films, the writing duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are also back!
The direction is by Shawn Levy, which marks the third collaboration between the director and the actor. The duo’s previous films were praised Free Guy: Taking Control It is The Adam Project.
In a bombastic video, Ryan CONFIRMED surprisingly, the film will feature the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and will bring elements from the Multiverse! After suffering some delays, the film is finally scheduled to hit Brazilian cinemas in July 25, 2024!
