The third film will be an action production, directed by Luis Lomenha in Rio de Janeiro. There is still no scheduled release date for the productions.
For Netflix, there is also the film based on the book “I Don’t Feel Alone Anymore”. Directed by Maria Flor, with a script by Maria herself and Júlia Lordello, produced by Quico Meirelles. The cast will include Manu Gavassi and Andréa Beltrão.
This year’s list of international co-productions also includes two feature films set in the Amazon. There is also a series about one of the most controversial American crime figures of the 1980s, written by American screenwriter Adam Penn, also screenwriter of “Mr. Robot” and “American Horror Story”.
Other projects from the producer already announced are the first season of “Cidade de Deus” (Max), the series based on the life of Raul Seixas (Globoplay), directed by Paulo and Pedro Morelli and produced by Paulo and Andrea Barata Ribeiro; and the second season of the series “Cangaço Novo” (Amazon Prime Video), produced by Andrea Barata Ribeiro. “We have many projects underway, both for cinema and streaming, as well as international co-productions. In 2024 we will film three series and two feature films. However, investment in the search for new content is a constant process, we have to think three years before at least”, comments Andrea Barata Ribeiro, partner and executive producer at O2.
