The new film He-Man, Masters of the Universe, got a release date. As you remember deadlinethe project began to be developed by Sonypassed through Netflixand now it is in the hands of Amazon MGM.
The film will follow Prince Adam’s journey at ten years old. The protagonist arrived on Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magic sword – the only link to his home, Eternia. After meeting her again nearly two decades later, Prince Adam is taken back into space to defend his home planet against Skeletor’s evil forces. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to unravel the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe.
Initially, it was thought that the film would be released directly on Prime Video. Amazon, however, is betting big on live-action, which will be released in theaters. There is no information about the cast yet. In addition to Travis Knight (Bumblebee) in the direction, He-Man will have a script by Chris Butler (Kubo and the Two Strings).
He-Man opens in theaters on June 5, 2026.
