The Fall Guy (known in these parts as Profession: Danger), was the big debut of the week, but the film starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt didn’t exactly achieve an impressive debut.
In its first few days on display, Fall Guy managed to gross just $65 million at the box office, far short of other high-profile films hitting theaters in the first 4 months of 2024, and certainly below what Universal Pictures expected.
According to forecasts, the film cost more than $220 million and faces serious difficulties in recovering the investment.
Despite this, Fall Guy’s numbers are already higher than those of Challengers, which grossed $52 million at the global box office, while other big names continued to add some more revenue to its total.
Dune: Part 2 has now grossed $708 million worldwide, Godzilla vs. Kong has grossed $546 million, while Kung Fu Panda 4 has grossed $520 million. These three films are the biggest hits of the first 4 months of the year, as no other film managed to surpass the $200 million barrier.
