Horror film about Jesus’ childhood will feature Nicolas Cage in the cast

Production promises to deal with a little-explored phase of Jesus’ life with a horror bias

According to deadlineEgyptian-American filmmaker Lofty Nathan will explore the childhood of Jesus in his new film, The Carpenter’s Son (The Carpenter’s Son, in free translation). The work will be a version focused on horror, and will feature Nicolas Cage in your cast.

In addition to Cage, the cast will feature FKA twigs (The Price of Talent), Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) It is Souheila Yacoub (Dune: Part 2). The official synopsis says:

“The Carpenter’s Son tells the dark story of a family hiding in Egypt under Roman rule. The son, known only as ‘the Boy’, creates doubts after being influenced by another mysterious child, and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing powers intrinsic to him and a destiny beyond his understanding. As he discovers his own powers, the Boy and his family become targets of horrors, both natural and divine.”

The work is inspired by the Pseudo-Thomas Gospel, a work considered apocryphal, that is, which is not considered part of the biblical canon of Christianity. The text talks about Jesus’ childhood, from 5 to 12 years old, and features stories in which Jesus is merciless and uses his powers against other people.

Cage will play the Carpenter, while FKA twigs will play the Mother. Jupe completes the trio by giving life to the Boy. Yacoub’s role has not yet been revealed.

The Carpenter’s Son It should start filming in the middle of this year.
