Spider-Man is about to star in a new animation on Disney Plus, titled ‘Your Friendly Neighbor Spider-Man’. Formerly known as ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’according to Toonado, the series is scheduled to premiere later this year, although no date has been set.
Originally announced as a possible prequel to Peter Parker’s adventures in the MCU, ‘Your Friendly Neighbor Spider-Man’ it will now take place in a new reality where Norman Osborn takes on the role of Spider-Man’s mentor, replacing Iron Man.
Brad Winderbauman executive at Marvel Studios, shared details of the new animation: “Follow the pattern you see in [Capitão América:] Civil war. Since Peter [Parker] picking up the broken Blu-ray player from the trash until he gets to his department for the famous moment where Tony Stark is waiting to offer him the Stark internship and take him to Berlin.” However, “things that happen in the multiverse because of new random occurrences”, and it is not Tony Stark who is waiting for him. “It’s Norman Osborn and that makes his life follow an unexpected trajectory that collides with many unexpected characters in the Marvel universe.”
‘Your Friendly Neighbor Spider-Man’ joins the success of ‘X-Men 97’ and it is not the only animation planned for this year, as the launch of ‘Eyes of Wakanda’a spin-off of ‘Black Panther’.
The debut of ‘Your Friendly Neighbor Spider-Man’ is scheduled for this year, although no specific date has yet been announced.
