Embraer’s ‘flying car’ already has around three thousand orders

-

With almost three thousand orders and expected start of operations in 2026, the EVE-100, better known as Embraer’s “flying car”, is already in the regulatory phase in Brazil. According to information from G1, the vehicle is currently undergoing evaluations at the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), which may soon authorize its flights in the country. Anac opened a sectoral consultation that will be open until next Friday (15).

To contribute to the consultation, you must access the official website of the agency. The objective is to gather comments on the airworthiness criteria that will be established for the model.

Flying cars are similar in structure to helicopters, but they are made for short-distance trips, within the same city or to nearby cities. Another common feature of eVTOLs is the electric motor. Helicopters are fueled with kerosene or gasoline. There are also differences in the wings, which can be attached to the flying car, and in the type of propeller.

‘Flying car’ is Embraer’s long-standing desire

Called EVE-100, the vehicle will be manufactured in the São Paulo city of Taubaté by Embraer’s own urban mobility company called Eve Air Mobility.

The company’s first flying car proposal was presented in 2018, but it took years to become a more concrete project.
