The band Metallica will use a fleet of Iveco S-Way trucks on the European leg of the M72 Word Tour. The trucks will be used to transport the show structure through cities such as Munich, Germany, Helsinki, Finland, Copenhagen, Denmark, as well as Warsaw in Poland and Madrid in Spain.

The band will use electric Iveco S-Way trucks with a range of up to 280 km, which will be customized with the band and tour logos. The S-eWay version, with a range of up to 500km, will also be used by the band.

Through a partnership with the company Baker Hughes, Metallica is increasingly encouraging the use of vehicles powered by hydrogen and electricity. Current music icons, such as Taylor Swift, have been criticized for the high CO2 emissions on their tours, as they use jets to travel and many diesel trucks to move the stage assembly structure from one city to another throughout the tour.

Luca Sra, president of the Iveco Group’s trucks business unit, celebrates the partnership and use of the Iveco S-Way line: “There could be no better time to announce a truly electrifying partnership. We are thrilled to hit the road with this incredible band and crew aboard our alternatively powered vehicles, driven by our shared calling to support sustainable communities and push the boundaries for a better world.”

Drummer and band founder Lars Ulrich added: “Metallica’s goals are aligned with Iveco’s plans to change the future of transport and carbon emissions. We realized the enormous potential to boost the reduction of CO² emissions in heavy transport”, concluded the musician.
