Happiness Day: the happiest songs, according to science – Alpha FM

This Wednesday, March 20th, International Day of Happiness is celebrated. The date was chosen by the UN to debate a topic of extreme importance and of interest to everyone. However, the concept of well-being and joy can be relative and varies between each person. What may make one person ecstatic may simply bore another. But, it’s difficult to find a person who doesn’t feel happy when they listen to music they love. Above all, it is a universal feeling.

Because of this, Dutch neuroscientist Jacob Jolij calculated a formula that determines the happiest songs in history. What he discovered, carrying out his research, is that most happy tracks are between 140 and 150 bpm and the lyrics talk about overcoming events and euphoria.

Taking these criteria into consideration, Jacob selected 10 songs that could be considered the “happiest in history”. Furthermore, taking advantage of the fact that Happiness Day is approaching, we remind you of this selection. In fact, most of these songs play on Alpha FM’s programming and are great classics of the music industry. Check out the full list:

Billie Joel brings an incurable romanticism to her verses on “Uptown Girl”. In short, the song talks about a young man who fell in love with an upper-class girl and dreams of being able to be with her.

2. ABBA – “Dancing Queen”

The greatest classic by the band ABBA. In fact, “Dancing Queen” has become one of the biggest hits of the 70s to this day.

1. Queen – “Don’t Stop Me Now”

In short, “Don’t Stop Me Now” is the happiest song according to the neurologist’s form. Released in 1979, the track brings animation and the lyrical self states with all the lyrics that nothing in the world can stop him.
