Show in the Historic Center celebrates the winners of the 15th Porto Alegre Music Festival

After a whole month of competition, the winners of the 15th Porto Alegre Music Festival were announced on Sunday, during the final stage of the competition, held at Praça da Alfândega, in the Historic Center. In the final were the 12 songs classified in four rounds held in recent weeks: six in the Music in general category; three in the Street Musician category; and three in the Kids category.

During this Sunday’s event, in addition to the competitors, professional musicians also performed for the public. The opening was by singer Ariane Wink, while the closing was led by the pop music duo, Claus and Vanessa.

The Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy, Henry Ventura, highlighted the consecration of the musicians in a great exchange between talents, cultures, different histories and realities. “The participants were of a very high level and now the finalists represent everything we saw in these qualifiers. The resumption of the Music Festival was of great importance for the city,” he stated.

The big winners of the night were the musicians Ernesto Aguiar and Fabiano da Silva who, with the song ‘Laranjeiras’, won in the best Music in General category and took home the trophy, presented by Mayor Sebastião Melo, and the prize of R$10 thousand. “Firstly, we want to thank everyone for valuing music, culture and art. We are very happy to be in this space and we can only thank all the bands, who were also in a very positive energy”, celebrated Aguiar.

In addition to the winners, the awards included first and second place with prizes of 5 and 3 thousand, respectively. The song “Dores da Solidão”, by Lucas Daniel Ortiz Romano, won second place, while “Teus Olhos Vão Me Hipnotizar”, by Rodrigo Godinho Corrêa, came third.

First place in each category (Kids and Street Musician) won R$3,000. Awards were also given for new music, best instrumentalist, best crowd and most popular song.

The jurors who participated in the selection were: Hugo Pereira La Roque, Luciano Souza Gomes, Mariana de Oliveira Lima, Oswaldo Niluk Júnior and Rodrigo Lentino Machado. The trophy was designed by sculptor, architect and urban planner Vinicius Vieira.

Created in 1998, the Music Festival continued until the thirteenth edition, in 2010. After a break, it was resumed in 2019, in another format, but always with a focus on new compositions, aimed at all musical genres.
