The Porto Ageas Coliseu is preparing to host the biggest Portuguese tribute show to Tina Turner. “Simply The Best” is a tribute from singer Kika Cardoso and her band that is scheduled for May 24th in the most emblematic room in the city.

“We were on tour, on the way home, last year, when the idea came up among everyone: next year it will be a year without Tina, why not do a show?”, explains Kika Cardoso.

On this special night, they will play Tina Turner’s greatest hits just like the American diva did on stage. From the clothes to the mannerisms, to the energetic and exciting environment, the idea is to transport the audience to a true spectacle of the singer. “It will be the most faithful we can do”, adds drummer David Sequeira, one of the organizers of the performance.

The line-up will consist of Kika Cardoso (vocals), David Sequeira (drums), Vítor Machado (bass), Pedro Ricardo (guitar), Rodrigo Lino (saxophone) and David Rato (keyboard). There will also be a very special appearance by the presenter Sonia Araújoand the musician and producer Pedro Vazwho will play Bryan Adams in “It’s Only Love.”

Furthermore, throughout the show there will be a dance performance from the AM Dance Studio academy, which were a gold button on “Got Talent Portugal” and will accompany Tina Turner’s hits with their choreography. The show also aims to mark 40 years of the iconic album “What’s Love Got to Do”, which was released in 1984.

Kika Cardoso was the big winner of “Factor X” in 2014. Since then, she has built a career and played with her band from the north to the south of the country. On the SIC program she played Tina Turner, because the American was always the great source of inspiration and the main reference for Kika. In fact, there are those who say that on stage it can be very difficult to distinguish the two.

“There are already several tributes to Tina Turner around the world, but we wanted to make a Portuguese one, who can represent our country abroad. And we have this ambition”, they say.

Tickets are available at sale between €15 and €35 online and in the usual places.
