Aggressiveness and complexity appear not only in the melodies of Carcass’ songs, but also in the lyrics of some of the songs, which talk about deaths, autopsies and other delicate topics. “Exhume To Consume”, “Unfit For Human Consumption”, “Reek Of Putrefaction” and “Corporal Jigsore Quandary” are some examples.

If for some Carcass’ lyrics may cause repulsion, for others, the words written by bassist and vocalist Jeff Walker were very useful. “It’s really sparked people’s interest in these topics. And at the end of the day, you can find holes in the letters. They’re not 100% medically accurate, but they work well,” added Walker, who recently performed with his band in Brazil and had to beat the heat.

Carcass’ most recent work is “Torn Arteries”, released in September 2021.
