Veteran Hard Rock band Mr. Big, who is playing shows on their latest tour, announced this Tuesday (May 7) details of their next studio album. Entitled “Ten”, the tenth record in the group’s discography will be released on July 12th.

Mr. Big’s new album features 11 new original tracks written by vocalist Eric Martin and guitarist Paul Gilbert, along with André Pessis and Tony Fanucchi. In a tribute to their late drummer Pat Torpey, Martin, Gilbert and bassist Billy Sheehan enlisted the exceptional talents of Nick D’Virgilio on drums for “Ten”, which was produced by Jay Ruston and the band themselves.

Vocalist Eric Martin spoke about “Ten” during an interview with Radioactive MikeZ, host of the program “Wired In The Empire”, on radio 96.7 KCAL-FM. According to the singer and songwriter, creating “Ten” was a quick process, however, choosing the album cover was a difficult task.

“Well, it was difficult to put the record together because of everyone’s schedule, but it came together pretty quickly. What took the longest was the album cover. No one could agree on the cover. It was ridiculous. I mean, our creative juices were gone. We’re long out of print for any kind of artistic work. And Paul Gilbert is a cartoonist of sorts, and I asked him, ‘Draw us in cartoon form and we couldn’t even think of a name.’ Anyway, that was what took the longest. So, I hope we make another record, but I don’t know, the album cover issue was painful,” said Martin.
