DDuring around 40 seconds, “Polish airspace was violated by one of the cruise missiles launched this evening by the aviation (…) of the Russian Federation”, indicated the operational command of the armed forces, via the social network X, formerly Twitter .
“The object flew in Polish space at the height of the village of Oserdow (east) and remained there for 39 seconds”, he added, highlighting that the missile was observed by military radars throughout the duration of the flight.
“The Polish army is constantly monitoring the situation on Ukrainian territory and remains on permanent alert to ensure the security of Polish airspace,” the army added.
Following this incident, “all necessary procedures were activated to guarantee the security of Polish airspace. Polish and allied aviation, among others, were activated”, the operational command of the armed forces also said in its statement, cited by AFP.
Another incident similar to this happened in December when a Russian missile entered Polish airspace and left it “a few minutes later towards Ukraine”.
In November 2022, a Ukrainian missile landed in the Polish village of Przewodow, near the border with Ukraine, killing two civilians.
