After about an hour of discussion, where several deputies intervened, the municipal assembly ended up approving this point, but with some exchange of ideas. Some deputies questioned the real value of the sale of the land – 3.36 million euros as the basis for the bidding – and also the negative opinion of the Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) due to the presence of archaeological remains.
In any case, the Maia Municipal Assembly approved this point by majority. The public bidding process will begin after the decision is published in Diário da República and will last for a period of 20 days, which ends before the FC Porto elections, scheduled for April 27th.
A land measuring 140,625 square meters will therefore be put up for sale at public auction, with a base value of 3.36 million euros. The site should make way for FC Porto’s new academy, where the construction of nine grass pitches is expected, four of them with seats for up to 400 spectators, a seven-a-side football pitch, a mini-stadium with 2500 seats and a building with 70 rooms. doubles.
