Charles III’s first words since Kate Middleton’s diagnosis – Current Affairs

This Thursday, March 28, King Charles III’s speech was released in which the monarch highlighted the importance of acts of friendship.

The audio message, highlights the BBC, was broadcast at the Royal Maundy religious ceremony at Worcester Cathedral in England.

Carlos III was not present at the ceremony, having been represented by his wife, Queen Camilla.

Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, is a Christian event that takes place every Thursday before Easter. The ceremony highlights Jesus’ washing of the disciples’ feet.

In the message, the sovereign highlighted the importance of the example given by Jesus in serving others.

“In this country we are blessed with different ceremonies dedicated to our well-being. But above all these organizations and their selfless teams, we need and benefit from those who generously extend their helping hand, especially in a time of need” , he stated.

Thus, Charles III underlined the following message: “Not to be served, but to serve” with “all the heart”.

This is the first time Her Majesty has spoken in public since Kate Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis.

Despite having missed this religious event, his presence was confirmed at Easter mass this Sunday.
