Even though they offer users a complete Android experience, Google’s Pixels have some specific problems. These have been dealt with promptly and now a new one can be resolved. Google wants to improve the scrolling on Pixels, but the solution will take some time to be distributed to everyone.
Google will solve Pixel problem
There are not many known problems with Google Pixels. The research giant created these smartphones from scratch and controls a large part of their design and the choice of hardware present. This can be seen with the SoC Tensor, which it prepared for its equipment.
Still, one of these problems seems to have arrived with the new Pixel 8. Users complain about a problem with the scroll on this smartphone's screen, which appears with hiccups, which gives a bad user experience to everyone who has it. this present issue.
This behavior, which doesn't seem widespread, makes these smartphones seem much less smooth to use than they should be. Complaints have been increasing over time and appear to be more common on the Pixel 8 Pro, but have also been reported on other models of Google equipment.
Solution will arrive with Android 15
The good news now is that this flaw, first reported in October, has now been marked as "fixed" in Google's issue manager. The bad part of this process is that this fix may not be implemented as it is, being incorporated only in Android 15.
In a comment on this fix, Google stated that "ongoing performance and power optimizations are scheduled for the next Android release. These include improvements that positively impact general system interface instability, as well as use cases tied to some Android apps ".
While the answer isn't clear, it's believed that "next Android release" means Android 15, rather than a minor update to Android 14. In that case, this supposedly fixed issue won't actually be addressed for most until at least minus August, when this system is expected to be launched.
