“In this text the essence of the head of state’s destiny is concentrated: protecting Russia and serving our people”he began by stating, addressing Russian citizens.
“It is a great honor and a sacred duty”, he continued, highlighting that “this is what has dominated the content and meaning of my work in previous years”.
Regarding the next term, which begins this Tuesday, he assured that, “In the future, the interests and security of the people of Russia will continue to be above all.”

“Russia’s destiny will be defined by us and only us”he highlighted, also recalling that the country faces “great challenges”.
For Putin, this should be seen as “a deep understanding of our shared historical goals.”“Determination to defend our values, our freedoms and our national interests.”
Once again without mentioning the conflict with the neighboring country or with Western nations, the head of state reinforced: “I am sure that we will face this period of disruption with dignity.”
“Protection of our people”
“We will be even stronger and will implement our long-term plans and large-scale projects for development goals”he said, assuring: “This is, first and foremost, the protection of our people”.
Referring to the current context of international relations, the head of state did not deny dialogue with the West, pointing the finger at Western oppression.
“We do not refuse dialogue with Western countries. It’s their choice,” he declared.
“Do they want to continue to contain Russia’s development, to implement the policy of aggression and oppression? Or will they seek the path of collaboration and peace?”
“We will continue to work on the formation of a multipolar order, in an equal security system,” he said. In a complex and constantly changing world we have to be self-sufficient and competitive, we have to open new horizons for Russia, as has happened many times in our history”.
In this sense, he considered that this “system must be firm, solid and resistant against any and all challenges and threats, guaranteeing the continuity and stability of the country’s development”.
Starting the new mandate, Putin promised to do everything to “fulfill” the expectations of Russian citizens.“I will use all the powers and competencies of the head of state established by the Constitution. And the results of this work critically depend on our unity, our strength, our common aspiration to serve the country, to protect it, to work with all effort”.
“Today we are responding to our ancient history, to our ancestors”, he continued. “We are preparing our future and preparing and implementing new programs and projects that will make our development even more dynamic.”
At the conclusion of the speech lasting just over 15 minutes, Putin stated: “We are united. We are a great people. And together we will overcome all obstacles. We will implement everything we planned. Together we will win.”
