According to the Prime Minister, it was agreed with the social partners to “comply with the agreements that are in force today”and the next meetings with the working groups that will evaluate the implementation of these same agreements are also scheduled.

“Possibly, if necessary, we will modify them in the positive sense”, added Montenegro.

Furthermore, the Government assured its “predisposition to listen, to debate and to bring together positions that may be favorable to having, in the country, more economic growth” and, consequently, better salaries and better living conditions, declared Luís Montenegro.

According to the Prime Minister, this predisposition will allow “reverse the trend of recent years, which saw us lose many of our most qualified young people abroad”.

At the end of the first meeting of Luís Montenegro’s Permanent Commission for Social Coordination since taking office as Prime Minister, he highlighted that in the first week of the legislature his Executive announced “the reduction in taxes”.

“This is not financial policy; this is an economic and social justice policy. With this we want to give the country a new impetus so that we can be more productive” and competitive, she explained.
