Management of the resigned Vítor Murta only lasts until the 31st and if Gérard Lopez does not present any list at tomorrow’s AG

The Boavista SAD General Assembly scheduled for tomorrow, at 6 pm, may not bring white smoke in relation to the future of the Society.

In fact, the most likely thing is that this is indeed the viable scenario and that it is on the table, especially because so far the main shareholder has not yet presented any candidate list to the Governing Bodies (SAD Administration, General Assembly and Fiscal Council) and This is the condition for the new shareholder meeting to make sense and continue, after having already been suspended twice.

Jogo Bonito, owned by businessman Gérard Lopez, as we know holds 67% of SAD’s capital, meaning it has the power to appoint the administrators, as it has done in the past. The problem is that at the GA scheduled for December 27th this did not happen, followed by a first suspension of the meeting for February 5th and, in turn, a second one for tomorrow.

This detail is important, since according to the Commercial Companies Code there cannot be a third suspension and if nothing is resolved at this AG, SAD will enter into a power vacuum, since the Supervisory Board has also completed its mandate and would be the body that would have to take over the management of the Company in the event of a resignation from the Administration, for example, mid-term.

All of this is because, as is public knowledge, Vítor Murta is resigning at the moment, an intention he announced shortly after the game against Sp. Braga, at the Estádio do Bessa, and which he then made official on February 29, with the two administrators Spaniards trusted by Gérard Lopez had also submitted their resignation on the 8th and 9th of last month.

In other words, of the four administrators, only the Senegalese Fary Faye, a former striker and historic figure of the chess team, is not resigning, although all are obliged to remain in office until the end of this month, as dictated by law.

Ultimately, on April 1st, SAD will be left without a king or direction and may enter into a kind of self-management until, at least, the end of the sporting season, at a stage in which the team is still fighting to remain in the 1st League, remaining here as big question still unanswered: what will Gérard Lopez decide?

The main investor has the so-called knife and cheese in his hand, even to defend what he has already invested in the checkers and can obviously decide to sell his stake in SAD. Something that, moreover, according to Recordhe had the opportunity to do so on at least two occasions in recent times, but he did not think that the proposals presented to him were worth defending his interests.
