This Thursday, Liverpool confirmed their qualification for the quarter-finals of the Europa League. After a defeat in Czechia, the reds They once again inflicted a heavy defeat on Sparta Praha, this time by 6-1, and secured access to the next stage without any problems.

Jürgen Klopp’s team entered the match with full force – refereed by the Portuguese Artur Soares Dias – and after 14 minutes they were already winning, imagine, 4-0. Darwin Núñez opened the scoring very early, in the seventh minute, and young Bobby Clark extended the lead in the next minute. Without taking their foot off the accelerator and committed to resolving the duel early, the Merseyside team scored two more in a short space of time, through Mohamed Salah (10′) and Cody Gakpo (14′).

The tie was more than resolved, if it wasn’t already before the opening whistle. Sparta Praha still managed to take the lead before the break, through Birmancevic (42′), but in the second half there was room for more goals from Liverpool. Szoboszlai made it 5-1, in the 48th minute, and Gakpo scored twice, in the 55th minute, to close the score.

With an impressive 11-2 on aggregate, the reds move on to the next phase of the Europa League. The focus now, however, is on the visit to Manchester United, next Sunday, for the FA Cup quarter-finals.
