FC Porto and Real Madrid came together today in Madrid in a game of solidarity with former football glories such as Casillas, Luís Figo, Raúl, Vítor Baía or Zidane, in the 11th edition of the ‘Corazón Classic Match’.

The solidarity game, promoted by the Real Madrid Foundation and to raise revenue in the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), took place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and ended with a victory for the ‘dragons’ by the minimum margin (1-0).

Former Slovak international Marek Cech was the scorer of the only goal of the game, in the eighth minute, and when Casillas, a Real Madrid legend, was still in the Merengues’ goal, in a duel in which he also wore the colors of FC Porto, the from 71 minutes onwards.

On the Porto side, highlights also include the participation of Maxi Pereira, Ricardo Costa, Bruno Alves, Paulo Assunção, Costinha, Diego, Derlei, Rui Barros, Pedro Mendes, Pena, Silvestre Varela or Bosingwa, while Quaresma did not leave the bench, due to physical problems.

On the Madrid side, in addition to the former Portuguese international Luís Figo, there was a large constellation of ‘stars’, including Zidane or Raúl, but also Butragueno, Karembeu, Arbeloa, Seedorf, Morientes, Buyo, Amavisca or McManaman.
