A The under-17 national team qualified, this Tuesday, for the final phase of the category’s European Championship by defeating Germany (3-2), in the third and final round of the group stage of this Elite Round. Geovany Quenda was the star of the match that took place in Vila Nova de Famalicão.
The young Sporting player scored two of Portugal’s three goals, in the 42nd and 82nd minutes, with João Trovisco (78′) scoring the other Portuguese goal.
In turn, Denis Husser (49′ and 90′), 16 years old, scored the German team’s two goals, both after the break, when he was thrown onto the field.
All things considered, Portugal will qualify for the competition that will take place between May 20th and June 5th.
