The incident with Sérgio Conceição at the Gañafote Cup tournament has already entered the political sphere in Cartaya, Huelva. The section of the Socialist Workers’ Party of Spain (PSOE) in that locality “outrightly” repudiated the “regrettable and disastrous” attitude of the president of the Chamber of the PP (Popular Party), Manuel Barroso, during the final of the Gañafote Cup, between Porto and Seville which «damaged and jeopardized the image of the municipality.»

Coach addressed the case that took place in Spain in the first person

The socialist spokesperson, Pepa González Bayo, condemned the “conduct” of a person who is a public servant and represents the people of Cartaya as president of the municipality. “It hurt everything that represents the values of sport in terms of cooperation, dialogue, friendship and teamwork.” «We are talking about a very important international sporting event, such as the Gañafote Cup, which promotes and sells the Huelva brand as a tourist destination, which has been taking place for several years in Cartaya and witnessed such an unpleasant spectacle as the one carried out by the mayor of Cartaya , first interfering and participating in a confrontation with a hostile attitude that leaves a lot to be desired for a public servant, and then, in a whole series of accusations.”

The socialist’s reaction came after, this Tuesday, in the municipality’s plenary session, Manuel Barroso did not give explanations to the population of Cartaya about what happened in the episode involving the politician, Sérgio Conceição and his son, Moisés, aged 22. years.
