Nuno Lobo is the new candidate for president of FC Porto! This Thursday, the businessman and professor delivered the necessary signatures and lists to run for social bodies.
«It was not an easy process for us. The media was not present. Afterwards, we didn’t have headquarters or garages to [fazer] collecting signatures. It was time-consuming work, but we managed to get the number needed to formalize the application”, he said as he left the FC Porto Museum, in Porto.
After submitting 330 signatures and the lists to the leader of the General Assembly Board, José Lourenço Pinto, the 54-year-old candidate joined the elections, to be held on April 27th, under the motto «Yes, we are Porto – projecting the future respecting the past».
«They said that this candidacy was [o atual presidente] Pinto da Costa and that he was going to give up a week before its formalization. Approves [contrária] That’s why we’re here today and we’re an independent list. We corroborated some ideas with André [Villas-Boas] and others don’t. In relation to the president, it’s the same thing. Now, we are not a candidate for revolution, but for evolution and continuity. That’s what I defend,” he concluded.
In what is Nuno Lobo’s second candidacy for the presidency of the dragons, the businessman once again presents Luís Barradas and Heleno Roseira as heads of the list for the Board of the General Assembly and the Fiscal and Disciplinary Council, respectively, for the four-year period 2024-2028. In the 2020 elections, this duo had already joined Nuno Lobo, when the businessman collected 4.91 percent of the votes, behind the winner Pinto da Costa (68.65 percent) and José Rio (26.44 percent). cent).
«I’m not here to add fuel to the fire, but there’s one thing I can guarantee: I am and will always be available to return to FC Porto. If necessary, we will be here again in 2028 to serve FC Porto, whatever happens in these next elections. Our only interest is for the club to win. I’m a member, I was used to being part of a winning FC Porto and that’s how I want to continue to maintain the club”, he said.
Nuno Lobo now joins the race with Pinto da Costa, “Todos pelo Porto”, and André Villas-Boas, «Só Há um Porto», and admitted that the program is similar to the one coming from 2020.
«I want sustainability and sporting success. We have a program that has been going on since 2020, but has been improved with 50 more proposals. My greatest happiness is seeing the other candidates talking about what we already defended in 2020 », he concluded.
