TÉo Guitérrez does not forget the times when he was guided by Jorge Jesus at Sporting. In an interview with DSportsThis Thursday, the Colombian striker recalled the moment he learned that Benfica had already tried to sign him, something that River hid from him.
“Some offers came to River, but they rejected them without telling me anything. At that point I would have left, because at that moment the club [Benfica] I had reached several European finals, but it was only in 2015 that I became aware of the proposals, when I arrived at Sporting”, Téo Guitérrez began by explaining, continuing.
“Coach Jorge Jesus explained the situation to me and told me that he wanted me at Benfica two or three times. River said nothing to my agent. Gallardo [o treinador] I didn’t want him to leave, but they didn’t tell me”, concluded the 38-year-old player, who scored 15 goals in 32 games for Sporting in the 2015/16 season.
