The news is reported by the Spanish press: Luis Rubialesformer president of the Spanish Football Federation, was detained this Wednesday morning, at Barajas Airport, in Madrid.
Hours after denying the accusations against himregarding the embezzlement of money into his bank account, the leader returned from the Dominican Republic and was detained by the police present at the scene.
Apparently, Luís Rubiales had to return to Spanish territory on April 6, but he chose to advance his trip to his country. For now, the next procedures regarding the case involving the former president are not known.
The Spaniard had several media outlets waiting for him at the airport, but he immediately went to a black van that was waiting for him next to the plane where he disembarked, as shown in the images below.
Remember that this arrest comes days after the first order in this sense, but on March 20th. At the time, Rubiales he was “surprised” by the decision and said he did “nothing illegal”.
