André Villas-Boas is seen as the likely winner of the FC Porto elections by the majority of Portuguese people, concludes the Intercampus barometer for the CM and for the CMTV. A fifth of people do not have an opinion. By levels, the highest percentage of favoritism attributed to Villas-Boas comes from the North region (53.9%).

Pinto da Costa, in turn, dominates in the Algarve (51.9%). The current president is more than nine percentage points away from his opponent in the global vote, but among women he is almost tied: 38.5% against Villas-Boas’ 39.1%.

By age groups, the candidate trying to break a cycle of 42 years of presidency has greater support among those aged 18 to 34 (46.9%), while the man seeking to secure a 16th consecutive term is more popular among those aged 35 at 54 years old (38.9%).

The elections at FC Porto are scheduled for this Saturday, but this Friday another deadline ends that will have an impact on the ballot: members have until 8pm to pay their dues, an essential condition to be able to vote. The doors to Estádio do Dragão open tomorrow, from 9am, and the queue closes at 8pm – anyone waiting at that time has the guarantee that they will be able to exercise their right to vote.
