When his departure from the French club was made official, Will Still was grateful for the “unique opportunity” that was provided to him by those responsible at Stade de Reims, in the middle of last season, when they handed him over the management of the main team, and the effects of the change were immediate.

“A nOur unbeaten run last season, as well as the spectacular displays at Delaune, will be unique moments for me. I will continue to be a fan of the club”, promised the coach.

Stade de Reims has also reacted to Will Still’s departure. “ANDWe are proud to have been able to contribute to the emergence of a coach who knew how to impose his convictions and his identity, allowing the club to take another step forward, particularly in the context of the internationalization of the dressing room”, can be read in an official note published on the club website.

Will Still was appointed head coach of Stade de Reims in October 2022, succeeding Spaniard Óscar Garcia, who was assistant. The team went on a run of 16 consecutive matches without losing, and, for the championship, they went 19 consecutive games without losing, making the Belgian coach an authentic phenomenon of popularity, in France and beyond.

They finished last season in 11th place in the Gallic League, precisely the position they occupy in the current edition of the competition, with three rounds still to be played, managing on both occasions to guarantee maintenance in a timely fashion.
