OFFICIAL: Rangnick refuses Bayern and remains in the Austrian team

It’s official! Ralf Rangnick turned down Bayern Munich and decided to remain in charge of the Austria national team beyond Euro 2024. «I am the Austria coach with all my heart. I am very satisfied with this work and determined to continue successfully on the path we have chosen. I want to emphasize that this is not a rejection of Bayern, but rather a decision thinking about my team and our common goals. Our total focus is on Euro 2024 and we will do everything in our power to get as far as possible”, said the coach, in statements reproduced by the Austrian federation. Last week, Rangnick, 65 years old, had reported of negotiations with the Bavarian giant to succeed Thomas Tuchel. The Bavarian leaders themselves publicly confirmed their intention to recruit the German, but there was no agreement. With a long career in football, Rangnick worked as a coach at clubs such as Stuttgart, Hannover 96, Schalke 04, Hoffenheim, Leipzig and Man United, as well as having had directorial roles at Leipzig, Lokomotiv Moscow, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Bragantino, Stuttgart and Man United.
