Issa Fatawu arrived, saw and won at Leicester City. With no space in Sporting’s main team, the explosive Ghanaian winger secured promotion to the Premier League and the club was forced to activate the player’s purchase option clause, for 17 million euros.
However, only half of this amount reaches Sporting’s coffers. Half goes to the modest club where Fatawu played before coming to Portugal, Steadfast. Sporting is already working on the next ‘Fatawu’.
According to the Ghanaian newspaper World Sport Ghana, Sporting is paying attention to the development of Aziz Issah, a young 18-year-old attacking midfielder who plays for Dreams FC. He will have already initiated contact with the player.
This season, Issah demonstrated his talent by leading Dreams FC to the semi-finals of the African Confederations Cup, with four goals and two assists, consolidating his status as one of the team’s best players.
In addition to Sporting, the Egyptian clubs Al Ahly and Zamalek, the two main clubs in the country and also among the most prestigious in Africa, are paying attention to the player.
