This Saturday, FC Porto beat Oliveirense (71-62) at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar and will face Benfica in the final of the Hugo dos Santos Cup in basketball.

The initial stage of this Oliveirense-FC Porto was very far from being a great basketball spectacle, starting with the first period, which ended with a minimal advantage for Oliveira de Azeméis’ team (13-12). The Dragons improved considerably in the second period and managed a 20-12 partial, going into the locker room to win 32-25.

In the third period, the Porto advantage reached double digits, but a strong reaction from Oliveirense meant that the Dragons started to lose in the last 10 minutes (50-47). In the fourth and final period, the roles were reversed and FC Porto showed their best version, ending up winning and booking a place in the final.

Anthony Barber (21 points), Tanner Omlid (14 points) and Charlon Kloof (12 points) were outstanding for the blue and whites.

In the final of the Hugo dos Santos Cup, which will be played this Sunday at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar (4:30 p.m., RTP2), FC Porto will face Benfica, the team that beat Sporting in the Lisbon derby by 73-66.

FC Porto, first placed in the regular phase of the championship, winner of the Taça de Portugal and quarter-finalist of the FIBA ​​Europe Cup, can win their second trophy of the season this Sunday.
