It’s official: David Moyes will not continue at the helm of West Ham next season. The club announced this Monday, through an official statement, that the contract will not be renewed.
The decision, or at least the announcement of it, came after the defeat suffered in the derby with Chelsea (5-0), a game that brought the number of consecutive games without a win to five.
Still, the six seasons at the service of hammers – left the club at the end of 2017/18 and returned in December 2019 – they were a success for the Scotsman, who registered 109 wins in 257 games. History will also include the conquest of UEFA Conference League last season.

«When I arrived, the club was one position above the relegation zone and it was an incredible journey to have won three consecutive seasons in Europe. I would like to thank all the players for their support and for all the success they have achieved”, he said on the club’s platforms.
According to the English press, the name of the successor is already a certainty, even if the contract has not yet been signed. Julen Lopetegui, formerly of FC Porto, will take over technical command of the London team in 2024/25.
