Goals from Lookman, Ruggeri and Touré in a one-way game mean a fair victory

Atalanta is in the Europa League final. The Italian team beat Marseille 3-0, in a dominant performance, and reached the final of the competition.

The first part was a true demonstration of superiority. Scamacca and De Ketelaere hit the woodwork, with two of the 13 shots that Gian Piero Gasperini’s team had before the break. Lookman made the difference at rest, with a shot still deflected by Clauss.

The second half was more of the same. Only once was there a real danger from Marseille, with a free-kick hitting the bar, due to Musso’s poor assessment. When that moment came, Atalanta were already winning 2-0, thanks to a great goal from Ruggeri, after a combination with Lookman.

Atalanta controlled, without much pressure, and Marseille did not have the capacity to respond. In the last move, El Bilal Touré sealed the triumph. A fair victory for those who, despite not being better in the first leg, were by far the superior team throughout the tie. First European final for Atalanta, in which they will face Leverkusen.
