World Association of Football Leagues and FIFpro demand changes to the calendar because of the well-being of the players and accuse the organization led by Gianni Infantino of only thinking about economic interests
The World Association of Football Leagues and FIFPro, the global players’ union, asked FIFA to review the calendar for the new Club World Cup, which will take place from June 15 to July 13, 2025. If the request is not accepted, they consider proceeding to court.
According to the letter sent to FIFA president Gianni Infantino, the two associations state that the calendar of football competitions is “beyond saturation”, creating several “economic damages” and pushing players “beyond their limits”.
