The line Galaxy A It is usually a sales phenomenon for the manufacturer Samsung. This family of cell phones borrows some features from the more premium models, the Galaxy Sbut maintains technical specifications that, although still competent, allow the devices to cost less for the consumer.

In March 2024, Samsung released an update to one of the successes in this line. This is the Galaxy A35seen as the revolution of Galaxy A34 of the previous year. But is this change worth it for those who have the older model? And is the price charged at launch for the newest device justified? See our comparison below.

The differences between the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A35

Similarities and differences

The duo also coincides in having IP67 waterproof certification. The similarities, however, stop there.

The differences between the two devices start with their appearance. Galaxy A35 adopts Infinity-O, which is a more discreet and elegant front camera display format: the sensor is located in a hole in the upper central part of the device, instead of “hollowed out” as in the case of the Galaxy A34.

Furthermore, the Galaxy A35 has a main rear camera that is better not just in resolution, going from 48 MP to 50 MP. The sensor size is different and results in capturing images with more detail in the case of the 2024 model.

It also has additional features, such as optical image stabilization and HDR Video support, which make a difference in creating content of higher technical quality.

The processor has also been updated and is more powerful in the A35 model. Those who are fans of MediaTek and don’t like Samsung’s Exynos chips may be disappointed with the change, but there is an evolution in performance.

The most recent model also has the Wi-Fi 6 connectivity technologies, Vision Booster and Gorilla Glass Victus in-display and Samsung Knox Vault on the A35. They are minor impact changes, but absent in the 2023 model.

Finally, the issue of colors is purely aesthetic. The Galaxy A34 has brighter and different tones, while the Galaxy A35 follows a pattern adopted by Samsung for this year’s devices.

Verdict

The Galaxy A35 is a notable and respectful evolution compared to the Galaxy A34. Those who already have the 2023 model and are thinking about exchanging for the newer one will find a cell phone that is still cost-effective, but with improved technical specifications.

Anyone looking for an intermediate cell phone for less than R$3,000 will find a valid alternative here. The Galaxy A35 is superior in design, processor and main rear sensor — and these are all factors that make the difference when comparing two devices in the same category. The evolution of the A35 in relation to the A34 is bolder than the generational transition from the A54 to the A55for example.

The other changes are very subtle, such as Samsung services, the operating system or colors, and are not that significant. Furthermore, there are several important technical specifications that are repeated, such as the battery and screen quality.

On the other hand, the price difference is important. The value of the Galaxy A34 is well reduced and it is not a bad or outdated device. So, if your budget is limited and you are in a hurry, opting for this 2023 model is not a bad deal.

So, which of the two cell phones is your favorite? Do you have any intermediate devices, whether from Samsung or another manufacturer? Share your experience with it here in the comments!
