O Whatsapp is constantly working to introduce new features to more than two billion users around the world, especially when it comes to protecting the security and privacy of data and conversations. We recently raised awareness that the Meta messaging platform blocked the ability to take screenshots of profile photos. But the news in this field doesn’t stop there!
WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption for conversations, ensuring that only those participating in the conversation can access the content and read the messages. This makes conversations truly private. One of the next updates to the application will confirm, without a doubt, that no one else can read our conversations.

Thus, according to the portal WaBetaInfoin the latest beta version 2.24.6.11, when entering a conversation – individual or group –, a padlock icon under the name of the contact (or group), accompanied by the message: “end-to-end encryption”, informing all participants in the conversation that the chat is completely protected.
This icon and message disappear after a few seconds, being replaced by the last time indicator online of the contact. The functionality is under development and will soon be available to all users, both iOS and Android.
