Dragon’s Dogma 2 surpasses 200,000 concurrent players on Steam

-

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released on March 22nd, the latest RPG created by Capcom.

The game was well received by critics (with a rating of 86 on Metacritic) but the public does not seem to share the same opinion; the sequel was heavily criticized for several issues related to its performance issues, intrusive microtransactions, among other complaints.

However, this didn’t stop the game from amassing thousands and thousands of simultaneous players on Steam. According to SteamDB, the game reached a peak of 227,103 players last Saturday.

In this way, Dragon’s Dogma 2 achieved better results compared to other large-scale Capcom games, including Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which reached a peak of 27,368 simultaneous players on Steam in January 2016.

These numbers also put Dragon’s Dogma 2 above other big-name RPG games released this year, including Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (46,161), Granblue Fantasia: Relink (114,054), and Persona 3 Reload (45,002).

At the time of writing this news, 177,624 players are currently in the open fantasy world created by Capcom. Does the studio have another hit on its hands?
