Microsoft Teams is becoming one of the most complete video conferencing apps thanks to Copilot, the company’s artificial intelligence-based assistant. On Tuesday (26), the software giant announced that new advanced features are coming to the platform to improve the user experience.

The application, which is already capable of generating video conference summaries, will now be able to combine speech transcripts and chat text messages into a single summary to facilitate updates about virtual meetings that the user may have missed.

AI-powered recapping will soon come to Teams phone calls as well. This feature will be available to users of the Premium version, which costs R$41.70 per person/month in Brazil.

Another feature that will be improved is the Copilot text generation box in Teams, which allows you to ask artificial intelligence to make adjustments to a text message before it is sent in the chat. Soon, users will also be able to have their messages rewritten in a personalized way.

After typing a text message in the Teams message box, simply click on the Copilot icon, select the “Adjust” option, and then “Personalize”. A new typing area will open, allowing the user to describe how the message to be sent should be rewritten. For example: “add a joke to the message”.

Microsoft also states that users will be able to generate messages based on the chat context itself, making the artificial intelligence experience more integrated.

In addition to the new Copilot features, the company also revealed other smart functions for Teams meetings. One of the improvements is the automatic switching of cameras in Teams Room, which will use artificial intelligence to identify the most suitable camera during a meeting — be it a notebook webcam or a camera in the room.

In a test version scheduled for April, speech recognition will also be available in Teams Rooms meetings, allowing users to register their voice and face profiles so that their speech in a meeting is correctly and automatically selected in transcripts when multiple people share. the same microphone.

The big tech also confirmed AT&T, Odido, Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone in the UK as its new operator partners for Teams Phone Mobile, which allows you to have the same phone number for your cell phone and phone calls in Teams.
